About Nicole

Before opening my therapy practice, I worked with kids, teens, families, and education professionals for three decades as a teacher, professor, learning specialist, and consultant. I hold a master’s and doctoral degree in education and a second master’s in marriage and family therapy, all from Seattle Pacific University. As an educator, I worked extensively with dyslexic students, their families, and schools. Eventually, though, I found that I was drawn even more to emotional journeys than academic success…and so I decided to become a therapist.

Clients say that I am supportive, strengths-based, and effective, that they feel held and believed in. The couples and adult-children-and-parents I work with tell me that they experience relational healing. I deeply value the  power of compassion to heal shame within ourselves and our relationships, hence, “heal, grow, thrive.”

My tools and training include Internal Family Systems Therapy, EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), Gottman Method, the Developmental Model from the Couple’s Institute, DBT (Dialectical Behavior Therapy), CAMS-Care Suicide Prevention, and Supportive Parenting for Anxious Childhood Emotions.

I am a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist Associate (LMFT-A). I receive supervision from Dr. Anne Prouty and Jen Graves.
